NOTIFICATION OF THE PRIVACY RIGHTS OF PARENTS AND STUDENTS PERTAINING TO EDUCATIONAL RECORDS The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) gives parents and students a privacy right in the student’s education records; allows for inspection and review of educational records by the parents, guardian, or student over 18 years of age; and provides for procedures by which educational records can be amended. Complaints for violations of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act may be filed with:
