| I was born in Huron, SD on February 5, 1973. I was born Janet Joan Hinker to Gerald and Florence Hinker. I have four sisters and one brother. I am the second youngest. I graduated from Redfield High School in 1991. I then attended Black Hills State University where I received a BS degree in education in 1996. I moved to Garden City, KS in 1997 where I taught business and computer classes for five years. I met my husband, Mike, while I was attending school in Spearfish. I married Mike in1998 and we had our first child, Madison, in 2001. We lived in Garden City until 2002 when we decided to move back to South Dakota to be closer to family. I got a job teaching at St. Joe's Indian School in Chamberlain, SD. I taught middle school science and math. In April of 2004 Mike and I added another little girl to our family. Taylor was born on April 25. I decided teaching middle school was not for me and I wanted to teach high school business and computers again. Mike got a job working with House of Glass in May, so we had to live apart for five weeks while I finished things up in Chamberlain. We then bought a house and moved to Aberdeen in June of 2005. I will also be coaching volleyball at Roncalli High School this year. I am working on getting my Master's degree in Professional Studies from Capella University. |
