Christmas is over and we are starting a New Year. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. I had a blessed time with my family and friends but I was anxious to get back to school.
This
month in kindergarten we will be learning the months of the year and
the day's of the week. We will also be studying all about
winter, snow, animals, and ending the month with Catholic Schools
Week.

School Hours: School begins at 8:10 a.m. and ends at 3:10 p.m. Attendance: A successful school experience is the responsibility of the children, parent, and the school. Your child's progress, both academically and socially, is influenced to a great extent by daily participation. Regular attendance without tardiness is a key. Please call the school or let me know if your child will be absent. School Work: Please look in your child's backpack each day. I will send all school news or notes home with your child in his/her take home folder. Lunch: Roncalli School provides a hot lunch each day for all the students. A lunch menu is available at www.aberdeenroncalli.org. Your child may also bring his/her sack lunch. Please label lunch boxes or sacks with your child's name and be sure to tell them to let me know so they will not be charged for a lunch that day. Rest time: Our class will rest for about 40 minutes each day after lunch. Your child is not required to go to sleep but must rest and relax quietly during this rest time. Rest time will be decreased gradually throughout the year as needed. Nap maps are required for each child and are available at the Roncalli Spirit Store. They will be sent home once a month to be washed. Birthdays and Treats: Birthdays are wonderful !! Simple treats may be sent to school on your child's birthday. Sending a birthday treat is optional. Birthday treats are appreciated but certainly not expected. We do have some allergies in this classroom so please don't send anything with peanuts. If your child's birthday falls during the summer months when school is not in session we will have a Summer Birthday Celebration at the end of the school year. Star of the Week: Your child will be recognized as our "Star of the Week" one week this school year. When it is your child's turn you will receive a detailed note about this event. I am asking you to fill out the form sent home with your child and bring any photos you would like to share with the class about your child or family. This pictures will be returned at the end of the week.
