I was born and raised in Gettysburg, SD. I graduated
from Gettysburg High School and Northern State University. My first teaching
and coaching experience was in Burke, SD. After three years in Burke, I
decided to try my hand as Youth Director at a YMCA in Aberdeen, WA. It was a
great experience, however, I missed the classroom and the Dakotas. We returned
to Aberdeen, SD in 1992 and I have been teaching and coaching at Roncalli
since that time. I share my life with my wife, Barb, our three children (Tyler, Traci and Kevin) granddaughter, Mya and grandson, Lincoln. My parents, Russ and Marilyn Stone, currently reside in Aberdeen as does my sister Judy. Judy is married (John) and has three daughters (Jami, Jori and Jeci). I also have one brother, Paul, who was killed in a work related accident in 1999. We all miss Paul very much but know he is with the Father in heaven. Much of Barb's family lives in Rapid City so we enjoy our time visiting them in the beautiful Black Hills. Outside of teaching and coaching I enjoy hunting with our chocolate labs (Rudy and Griz), fishing, jogging and yard work. I also enjoy spending time at family lake cabin with family and friends. I have been a life long fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings as well as the Boston Celtics. |
