Biography

Hi,  my name is Brenda Mitzel.  I am married to my husband, Steve, and we have four wonderful children.  Derek, Tyson, Jessica and Adam. 

I graduated from Roncalli High School in 1986 and from NSU in 1990 with a BS in Elementary Education.  I received an  MS in Elementary Classroom Teaching from NSU in 2005 and an Administrative Endorsement in 2008.

I have had experience teaching 4th grade, 6th grade and have helped integrate computer hardware, networking, and educational technology into the school setting.

I currently serve as the North Central Accreditation Chairperson for the Aberdeen Catholic School System.  I enjoy the opportunity to be involved in the school improvement process and to offer a challenging curriculum that meets the needs of all learners while maintaining our Catholic identity.

My philosophy about education is that it must appeal to the senses and be meaningful for the learner.  Therefore, I believe in bringing humor and excitement to the classroom through inquiry-based lessons and units that challenge and motivate young minds.
