Writing

 

From four squares of writing book students listen to how writers give reasons and explanations for their writing.  Have students complete an activity sheet where they circle the sentence that proves the topic.

 

 

From four squares of writing, students will be given a sentence and they will have to write three sentences that prove their topic to be true.  Then write a feeling sentence.

 

 

 

 

 

Have students work on Tuesday’s writing assignment and paint letters for a banner for grandparents Day.

Play game of punctuation playhouse. Teacher puts up sentence that is missing the punctuation mark and students put a bingo marker on the correct punctuation mark.

Describe how Columbus came to North America. Read text 234-235.  Show overhead transparency of his journey.  Complete workbook pages 47 and 52.

 

 

Have students make a gameboard of the voyage made by Columbus and play the game which focuses on direction words.

 

Have students make Native American leather using brown grocery sacks.  Write simple sentences using Native American symbols.
