Directing bands is my job; teaching is my profession. My job as a
teacher is to take students from what they are to what they can be. |
ABOUT THE
DIRECTOR |

I am
Mrs. Kimberly Carda and I grew up on a farm near Tolstoy, South Dakota. I
attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School in Hoven through sixth
grade, and then attended Hoven Junior High and High School. I had the
privilege of having a wonderful band director, Mr. Michael Coyne, and it was
his guidance and example that lead me to Northern State University, where I
received my Bachelor of Music Education Degree. I have instrumental and
vocal majors, with emphasis in piano. |

| In the
spring of 1997, I completed my student teaching experience at Roncalli, and
that fall, I began teaching instrumental music at Roncalli. I firmly
believe it was the Lord’s will that I ended up where I began. It has been a
wonderful learning experience for me. The Roncalli Family of teachers,
staff, administration, school board, parents and students have been and
continue to be an inspiration to me. I have grown in my faith because of
this second family. |

| I live
outside of Aberdeen with my husband Joel, three daughters, McKayla, Erica
and Leah,
and our black lab Max. |
